Kinoton intermittent movement suitable for a second life

The intermittend movement units of Kinoton projectors generally have an indefinite life time. Prerequisite for this is of course that they are never allowed to run without oil. It is not unusual that some projectors have made over 80.000 hours.

When this stage is reached, it is likely that by the hardening of the plastic seals, leakage has occur. Apart from the fact that the entire machine is than stuck under the oil, it is likely that the maltese cross by oil loss is running “dry”. The costs of a jammed cross are significant. It is better to be on time to get the intermittent movement overhauled. Rosbeek Technique is fully equipped to carry out such repairs. This series of photos shows how the intermittend unit is overhauled
